Every case is different, because every smile is unique! Treatment can last anywhere from 3 to 24 months. In general, you can expect treatment to take between 18 months to 2 years for moderate to complex orthodontic issues.

No, braces don’t hurt. For the first few days following fitting and adjustments, the teeth can become a bit sensitive as they adjust to the new positions. This discomfort should go away in a few days and can be eased with an aspirin tablet.

Orthodontic treatment isn’t necessary for everyone, and we will only recommend treatment if we think you can benefit from it. Treatment can help not only the symmetry of your smile, it can also help with digestion, speech impediments and oral hygiene.

We try our very best to avoid the extraction of teeth, but sometimes it's impossible to line up the teeth without creating extra space. If tooth extraction is necessary, your dentist will perform the procedure.

The process is fairly simple and lasts about 30 minutes. A couple of days before your brace fitting, you might need some small elastics (called separators) between your teeth. This gently moves your back teeth apart so that we can put metal rings around them easily.

Placing brackets doesn’t cause any discomfort, and usually involves some polishing of the teeth before we fit your brackets with the highest quality orthodontic adhesive.

On the day of your fitting, we will go over proper teeth maintenance in detail. However, we suggest investing in orthodontic and interspace toothbrushes.

Brush your teeth after every meal and before going to bed. You can use disclosing tablets and paste after brushing and before bedtime. Fluoride mouthwashes, on the other hand, should only be used before going to sleep.

If you would like your teeth to remain in their proper positions, you will need to come to our practice for brace adjustments every 10-15 weeks. The intervals may be less frequent in some cases.

After the teeth have been straightened, they have to be held in place for a time to let the bone rest. Make sure you wear your retainers properly as instructed - if you don't, your teeth will relapse.

Absolutely! However, Invisalign® treatment doesn’t work for every orthodontic case, so it’s important to find out if you are a candidate at your orthodontic consultation. In addition, it’s crucial to follow the instructions of Dr Mojtaba to achieve the best results.

You will switch your Invisalign® aligners every two weeks or as recommended by Dr Mojtaba. You can view your own virtual treatment plan to see in advance what your newly straight smile will look like.

If you don’t wear your aligners for the recommended 22 hours a day it can slow down your treatment progress and push back the smile results you so hope to achieve!
